About Dr. Alvarez:
Growing up, Dr. Alfredo Alvarez (“Dr. Freddy”) played competitive club soccer and often experienced ankle sprains. He regularly saw the club’s trainer for treatment and taping, and those experiences sparked his desire to pursue a career as an athletic trainer.
Shortly after attending Northern Illinois University, Dr. Freddy realized he wanted to help more than just athletes. He explored becoming a physical therapist, but after working as a rehabilitation technician at a chiropractic clinic, it became clear that his true calling was to become a chiropractor.
Dr. Freddy attended Northern Illinois University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. He and his wife then moved to Davenport, Iowa, so he could attend Palmer College of Chiropractic. During his time at Palmer, Dr. Freddy developed a strong interest in working with pregnant women, infants, and children. He is certified in Nimmo Receptor-Tonus Technique, a soft-tissue method designed to treat myofascial trigger points.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, their one-year-old daughter, and their dog, Coco. Dr. Freddy also enjoys fishing, staying physically active, and spending quality time with family and friends.
